I'd like to see a comparative analysis of pollution from leafblowing a pile of leaves with an inefficient gas-powered motor and driving them to a dump versus raking and burning them in situ.Avery Gilberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18104017679971839738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8125354955146250762.post-77402296978854861502009-10-19T11:42:20.857-07:002009-10-19T11:42:20.857-07:00I agree! Whoever invented leaf blowers... So now there's no bonfire smoke, lots of noise and the smell of gasoline instead.Elizanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8125354955146250762.post-83372644741545014322009-10-18T19:28:35.455-07:002009-10-18T19:28:35.455-07:00Olfacta & Nathan Branch:

The entire (small) town smelled like burned leaves -- it was fantastic. I miss that smell.

Christopher Brosius at CB I Hate Perfume offers a good approximation of the smell of burning leaves with his "Burning Leaves" accord. It doesn't smell exactly like the real thing (how could it?), but there's just enough of that charred, smoky ghost to bring some nostalgic satisfaction to the day.Nathan Branchhttp://www.nathanbranch.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8125354955146250762.post-8289159614779509692009-10-14T08:07:33.356-07:002009-10-14T08:07:33.356-07:00We've had the "burn ban" here for ye...We've had the "burn ban" here for years.
