Happine...I thought you had uncovered my secret. :)

Happiness - or rather, bliss - really can be a "fragrance".
Whenever I attain the crest of a wave of bliss - it's a purely mental state, I am not talking about the minor sort of "bliss" derived from eating/drinking something delicious or from other physical activities - I recognise a subtle but all-pervading "fragrance" without a specific smell. I doubt it is associated with a memory, however early, because I would have recognised it. (Scents are extremely important to my life, and I recognise them easily.)
It simply does not have a smell. A heady fragrance without a smell. The fragrance of happiness. It is SO precious to me that I refuse to even think about it too often, let alone speaking of it, lest I contaminate or "deconstruct" it or the mechanism that makes it happen. This is the first time I have ever mentioned this to anyone.

Oh BTW, in the past three or four days I dreamt about scents TWICE. That is very unusual for me.

The first dream involved - get this - whiskey on someone's breath that smelled divinely sweetly. It was also incredibly soothing. I could not inhale it fast enough, and I woke up still craving for that soothing scent. (I have an alcoholic drink maybe three or four times a year and don't even keep alcohol in my home, nor do I keep company with anyone who drinks.)

Last night I dreamt about perfume bottles. I am a passionate perfume collector (although I rarely find a scent that I truly love), but I don't think I had ever dreamt about perfumes before.Myosotishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04747726386385520800noreply@blogger.com
